My Faith, His Power
There was a season in my life when my faith felt like it was slipping through my fingers. I smiled in public, spoke hopeful words, and tried to look strong, but privately I was exhausted. I carried questions I didn’t know how to pray and fears I didn’t want to admit out loud. I remember nights lying awake, asking God if He could still hear me. In that quiet place, stripped of pride and pretending, all I had left was a fragile whisper of trust. And somehow, that whisper was enough. Jesus said, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed… nothing will be impossible for you” (Matthew 17:20). I didn’t have mountain-moving faith, I had survival faith. But God met me there.
The breakthrough didn’t come instantly. Days turned into weeks, and I learned what it meant to walk by faith when nothing around me changed. I showed up to prayer tired. I worshiped with tears in my eyes. I kept trusting when it felt like I was walking in the dark. “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see” (Hebrews 11:1). Looking back, I see that God was doing His deepest work in the waiting. He wasn’t just changing my situation, God was changing me. My faith stopped being about getting prayers answered and became more about knowing His presence.
What moves me most is realizing how often God carried me when I thought I was carrying myself. The moments I felt weakest were the moments His strength held me upright. “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9). I didn’t overcome because I became strong. I overcame because His power filled every place my strength ran out. My faith didn’t need to be impressive, it only needed to be surrendered. And in that surrender, I witnessed miracles: peace that didn’t make sense, endurance I didn’t know I had, and hope that kept rising no matter how hard life pressed down.
Today, when I look back on that season, I don’t just see struggle. I see proof. Proof that small faith can carry you through big storms. Proof that God never wastes pain. Proof that His power is most visible when we stop pretending to be strong and start trusting Him to be our strength. My faith was trembling, but His power was steady. And that made all the difference.
Closing Prayer
Lord, thank You for meeting us in our weakest moments. When our faith feels small and our hearts feel heavy, remind us that Your power is never limited by our fear. Teach us to trust You in the waiting and rest in Your presence when answers delay. Strengthen us where we are fragile and carry us where we cannot walk alone. Let our lives tell the story of Your faithfulness — that even trembling faith in Your hands becomes unshakable. Amen.
